Summary: carriage returns cause editor glitches
Product: kate
Version: unspecified
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kde-***@kde.org
ReportedBy: ***@aei-tech.com
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 3.1
OS: Linux
This actually goes into the text editor embedded into Kate, but I'm not sure where to report that so I put this bug here.
If a file contains CR/LF combinations (\r\n type) at the end of the line, and that font doesn't have a display for that character, it causes glitches in the editor display.
I am going to attempt to attach two screenshots to this bug report to demonstrated what I'm talking about. One screenshot will contain Kate viewed with a courier font that displays the ascii character #13 as a square, the other displays it as a tab of about 10 spaces, which seems to message kate up.
Please see the attached pics.
